The warmer weather and longer days can only mean one thing - summer is almost here!
And with so much happening this month from live entertainment to local markets and dancing socials, June is the month to visit Downtown Halifax.

Halifax International Fleet Week is back!
Halifax International Fleet Week is sailing back into downtown from June 18–22, 2025, and it’s shaping up to be an unforgettable celebration on land and sea!
This action-packed week will bring the waterfront to life with massive naval ships from around the world, exciting ship tours, live music, a drone light show and even a Fleet Week 6K Run for those ready to break a sweat.
It’s a chance to meet the men and women of the Royal Canadian Navy and Canadian Armed Forces, snap some epic photos, and get inspired by the power and precision of maritime life. With hands-on activities, family-friendly events, and a huge dose of nautical pride, Fleet Week promises fun for all ages while showcasing Halifax as Canada’s ultimate naval hub. Anchors aweigh!

Get Moving on the Waterfront
There are so many ways to get moving on the Halifax Waterfront this June!
Rent a bike or e-bike and explore the area at your own pace, or join an I Heart Bikes guided tour for a fun and informative ride. Craving some speed? Hop on a Sea-Doo and zip along the harbour for an adrenaline-filled adventure. For something a bit more relaxed, enjoy a scenic lunch or sunset paddle with Harbour Watercraft Tours and Adventures.
If breaking a sweat is more your style, take part in the weekly R Studios Sunset Series Workouts happening along the boardwalk. Prefer wheels? Rent a Segway and take a smooth, effortless spin down the waterfront. Bring your own ball and challenge friends to a game of pickup volleyball at the outdoor courts, or if you're in the mood for something truly memorable, treat yourself to a majestic group sail or private charter with J Farwell Sailing Co.
No matter your pace or ability level, there’s a way for everyone to move and enjoy the vibrant Halifax Waterfront this summer.

World Oceans Day
World Oceans Day takes place on June 8. It is a day to celebrate our world's oceans and the important role they play in our lives. It also gives us the opportunity to discuss how we can protect them.
Here are a few ways to celebrate World Oceans Day in Downtown Halifax:
June 4: Sea Turtle Bubble Party, The Wave, Lower Water Street, 10:00 - 11:30 am
June 8: World Ocean Day, Queen's Marque Courtyard, 10 am - 3 pm

Can't Miss Live Entertainment
Halifax heats up this June with the all-new Halifax Music Fest, featuring legendary acts like The Killers, Nickelback, and Alvvays alongside even more top Canadian talent, plus Afrobeats star Joeboy performing live at The Dome.
The iconic Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo also returns, delivering its classic mix of music, pageantry, and military precision at the Scotiabank Centre.

Dance your way into summer with free dancing on the Halifax Waterfront.
Whether you're a newbie looking to learn or a seasoned pro who can't wait to get back on the dance floor, these free dancing socials are open and welcoming to everyone:
June 3: DalKing's Swing Dance Society's Lindy Hop Swing Dancing, 7 - 8 pm, Tall Ships Quay by Water Polo Restaurant, continuing every Tuesday over the summer.
June 7: House of Eight's Halifax K-Pop Random Play Dance Event, starts at 3:45 pm, Cunard Public Space on the Halifax Waterfront.
June 8: DalKing's Swing Dance Society's Blues Dancing, 8 - 10 pm, Tall Ships Quay by Water Polo Restaurant, continuing every Sunday over the summer.
June 20: Haliente's Salsa on the Waterfront, Cunard Wharf, continuing every Thursday until September 5; 7 - 11 pm
