August is a great month to enjoy some of Halifax's favourite annual festivals. Here are a few to check out:

To August 3: Buskers

The Buskers are back for the long weekend from July 29-August 3. This annual crowd-pleaser is celebrating 40 years this summer, and attracts thousands to Downtown Halifax to take in all the free fun. See all the performers slated to perform here. 

To August 3: Natal Day 2026 Celebrations

Don't miss the celebrations for Natal Day taking place across the Halifax-Dartmouth area. Don't miss all the exciting, free events including the Halifax-Dartmouth Natal Day Harbour Fireworks on Saturday, August 1, at 10 pm. 

August 13-15: Halifax Seaport Cider & Beerfest & Fizzfest

SHUT UP X DANCE makes its Halifax debt on August 14 at The Decks Rooftop. Expect incredible energy, stunning views, and a packed dancefloor . 

August 15: Art of Disability Festival 

The 13th Annual Art of Disability Festival is taking place on August 15 at the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21. This event highlights the creative talents of persons with disabilities in the Nova Scotia community. Free admission. Learn more here. 

August 28 & 29: Summer Market & Shows

The East Coast Markets & Exchange is hosting Summer Market & Shows, a multicultural marketplace celebrating Nova Scotia's diversity and growth. Enjoy live music and cultural performances, a multicultural marketplace, and more.

Enjoy live Celtic music on Stone's Throw Patio, featuring some of Nova Scotia's best Celtic musicians, every Tuesday in August (August 4, 11, 18 & 25). 

August 4: Tuesday Night Tunes at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic - Skyler Stetler - Jazz for the Summer Vibe

August 15: Deep Purple with Special Guest Kansas

August 20: Chasing Abbey

Chasing Abbey plays the Light House Arts Centre on August 20 at 8 pm. This award-winning trio from Ireland is known for combining cutting-edge electronic production with the heart of traditional Irish music.
