(Halifax, N.S.) - Downtown Halifax Business Commission (DHBC) is covering the cost of ZONE B on-street parking from 4:00 p.m. onward every Friday during the run-up to Christmas.
“We know parking can sometimes be a deterrent for folks wanting to come Downtown and that just shouldn’t be the case. There are actually thousands of parking spaces available to the public in the Downtown core,” says DHBC CEO, Paul MacKinnon. “This free on-street parking offer is DHBC’s way of saying thank you to those wanting to shop local this holiday season. With parking free on Fridays after 4:00 p.m. people will have more time to eat, shop and be entertained.”
Who: Downtown Halifax Business Commission
What: FREE parking in ZONE B from 4:00 p.m. onward every Friday until Christmas.
When: Every Friday leading up to Christmas (December 2, 9, 16 & 23) starting at 4:00 p.m.
Why: To encourage people to start their evening earlier. More time for food, shopping and enjoying all the holiday themed festivities including DELIGHTFUL DOWNTOWN and the Evergreen Festival.
Where: ZONE B, on-street parking, Downtown Halifax (see map – area in pink.)
How: Park on the street in ZONE B on Friday and do not pay after 4:00 p.m. at the pay stations and/or HotSpot app.
