2023 Evergreen Festival Market Vendor Grant
CLOSED FOR 2023
The holiday season is fast approaching, and with it, comes planning for the 4th annual Evergreen Festival, taking place from November 24 to December 17, 2023.
Evergreen Festival is a 4-week-long outdoor winter showcase of Nova Scotia’s culture, food, spirits, craft, art, music, and performance. Dispersed along the Halifax Waterfront and throughout Downtown Halifax, Evergreen features a walkable, safe collection of outdoor experiences encompassing both businesses and public spaces.
Nestled within the Festival is the Evergreen Market, an open-air, European-style holiday market. Taking place in the Foundation Place Parking Lot (1549 Lower Water Street) on the Halifax Waterfront, the Market is made up of twenty-two (22) cozy, wooden chalets with vendors offering a variety of local food, drink, apparel, and gifts. The Market is slated to be in operation (weather pending) on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 4 to 9 pm; Saturdays from 11 am to 9 pm; and Sundays from noon to 6 pm.
And there are opportunities for Downtown Halifax businesses to license a chalet for the duration of the festival or a portion thereof as outlined in the 2023 Evergreen Market Vendor Opportunity document.
To help our members participate as a vendor in the Evergreen Market, Downtown Halifax Business Commission (DHBC) is offering to subsidize the cost of the Evergreen Market Vendor License Fees with a maximum grant of $1,000.00 (excluding tax) per business. This opportunity is available to all Downtown Halifax businesses that can provide an offering that will celebrate Nova Scotia’s culture, food, spirits, craft and/or art. Eligible businesses must be located in the DHBC catchment area (see catchment map here).
There are multiple options of participation for vendors in the market including full participation (18 operating days) and partial participation (5, 8 and 10 operating days), and The Pop Can at Salt Yard (5 days). Vendors will also receive credit for attendance per day with money back, meaning that your license fee could be fully or almost fully covered by this grant program.
For more information about Vendor Options and License Fees, please see the 2023 Evergreen Market Vendor Opportunity document.
