Nocturne: Art at Night - Saturday, October 13, 6:00 PM - 12:00 AM

Harvest Moon Festival - Saturday, October 13 - 27
Historic Properties is gearing up for the 2nd Annual Harvest Moon Festival! The Historic Properties Courtyard and Market will be completely dressed in the splendour of fall colours. Come and sit on the giant cornucopia apple barrel and take a selfie, enjoy apple cider at Grounded Café and come back at night to see the amazing artistic installations in the courtyard for Nocturne on October 13th.
The Great Pumpkin Patch Art Contest will take over the Historic Properties Mall starting October 19th. With stunning Halloween pumpkins elaborately carved, painted and designed by NSCAD and NSCC Culinary Arts students. Come on down to vote for your favourite.
On Saturday, October 27th Historic Properties will once again host Safe Halloween from 12:00 – 3:00 pm where families can enjoy fun activities and receive candy in a safe and fun environment. The Courtyard and Market will be decorated with spooky touches, and there will be a photo booth, pumpkin bowling, pumpkin checkers, face painting, popcorn, cotton candy and of course candy treat bags for kids.
City Harvest - Saturday, October 20
City Harvest is once again taking place on Saturday, October 20 around the Downtown area. More details to follow.
Hal-Con Sci-Fi and Gaming Convention - October 26-28
Hal-Con, the sci-fi, fantasy and gaming convention, is taking place at the Halifax Convention Centre from October 26-28. Guests this year include Tricia Helfer, LeVar Burton, Billy Boyd and more. Tickets are still available here.
Hal-Con Street Fest - Sunday, October 28, 12:00 - 3:00 PM
Join us for a Hal-Con Street Fest on Sunday, October 28 from 12:00 - 3:00 pm on Argyle Street (between Sackville and Prince Streets). This free, family-friendly event is open to the public (you do not need tickets to the Hal-Con conference to attend). Get your picture taken with a Hal-Con cosplayer, enjoy free popcorn and cotton candy, and get your face painted like your favourite Superhero. See you there!
Haunt the Downtown - Sunday, October 28, 12:00 - 3:00 PM
Trick-or-Treat store-to-store rather than door-to-door during Haunt the Downtown. Start your adventure at the Hal-Con Street Fest by picking up your trick-or-treat bag at the Downtown Halifax Info tent, and then venture out around the Downtown area for tricks and treats at participating businesses.
