From annual favourites like Hal-Con and the Evergreen Festival to exciting live ones like concerts, Curling Trials and festive markets, there's something for everyone to enjoy this November.

Remembrance Day Ceremonies

Remembrance Day takes place on November 11 to commemorate the end of the First World War which ended "at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month" in 1918.
If you would like to pay your respects, here are some commemoration ceremonies that you can attend:
Remembrance Day Ceremony, Grand Parade
The Remembrance Day Ceremony will take place in Grand Parade (1841 Argyle Street) at 11 am.
The general public is invited to attend this service to honour and remember all of Canada's Veterans.
Remembrance Day Commemoration, Halifax Citadel National Historic Site
Starting at 11 am, the 1st Field Artillery Regiment will fire a 21-gun salute at the front entrance of the Halifax Citadel followed by the firing of the noon gun.
The Halifax Citadel will be open on November 11 from 9 am - 5 pm, and the Army Museum will be open from 10 am - 2 pm. Admission is free.

Curling Canada Trials

Curling Canada Trials
Get ready for a high‑stakes showdown—the 2025 Canadian Curling Trials will take place from November 22 to 30, 2025, at the Scotiabank Centre.
This premier event will feature Canada’s top eight men’s and eight women’s curling teams battling it out in a round‑robin format, followed by playoffs, including for the first time ever a best‑of‑three final series!
Mark your calendar for what promises to be a thrilling week to see who punches their ticket to the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.
The festivities don't stop at the sport itself, Halifax Convention centre is going to be the home of 'The Patch“ AKA curling’s party place”! Fans are guaranteed a rockin’ good time, highlighted by a nightly lineup of live entertainment/games and fuelled by a tasty selection of food and beverages. And it is totally FREE to check out!

DELIGHTFUL DOWNTOWN is back with a new season of "delightful" light projections and installations throughout the Downtown Halifax area, and includes the beautiful light projection shows on the former Halifax Memorial Library Building at Grafton Park (corner of Spring Garden Road and Grafton Street).
Starting November 7, the light projection shows will run through the holiday season to January 12, 2025.

Hal-Con Sci-Fi & Fantasy Convention is Atlantic's Canada's premiere sci-fi and gaming convention.
Taking place at the Halifax Convention Centre from November 7-9, Hal-Con includes discussion panels, live theatre, Q&A panels with guests, workshops and seminars, costume contests, and more.

Evergreen Festival is back again for another year!
This 4-week-long winter celebration of Nova Scotian culture, food, spirits, crafts, and memorable experiences, kicks-off on Friday, November 21.
Highlights of the Festival include the Evergreen Market, featuring local vendors selling everything from food and drinks to crafts and clothing; Evergreen Bright, a walkable trail of twinkling light displays and installations around Downtown Halifax; the Evergreen Stage, where you can enjoy live music and entertainment at The BG (Beer Garden); and the Winter Sports Zone where you can try your hand at various outdoor sports.
The Evergreen Festival until December 14 along the Halifax Waterfront and around Downtown Halifax.
