DELIGHTFUL DOWNTOWN is our winter lighting program and includes the beautiful light projection shows on the former Halifax Memorial Library Building at Grafton Park (corner of Spring Garden Road and Grafton Street) that run from dusk to 11 pm.

Here's the schedule for the January light projection shows:

December 30 - January 2: New Year's Show (The New Year's Show will run alongside the Winter Show except on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, when just the New Year's Show will run. On New Year's Eve, the New Year's Show will run until 1:00 am.)

To January 12: *NEW Winter Light Show

DELIGHTFUL DOWNTOWN also includes other light installations around the city including the dazzling, 28-foot-tall winter tree (35-feet-tall with the base!) and decorations in Peace and Friendship Park, the winter-themed window decals and lights along Barrington Street, and the trees wrapped with lights in Granville Mall, Raymond Taavel Park, and on Bedford Row - all of which will be up until late March 2025.

Practicing Dry January this year? Well, that's no reason to stay home!

Many restaurants, pubs, and bars in Downtown Halifax now offer a variety of non-alcoholic options, including beer, wine, mocktails, sodas, and more. This means you can still enjoy a night out, whether you're sharing a meal with friends, attending a sporting event at the Scotiabank Centre, or enjoying live music at one of the many pubs around Downtown Halifax.

You can also purchase non-alcoholic products at Bishop's Cellar in Bishop's Landing, including non-alcoholic beer, cider and cocktails.
