Downtown Halifax honours armed forces with special Remembrance Day light projection show

Halifax, N.S. - Downtown Halifax Business Commission’s (DHBC) annual light shows at Grafton Park will start tomorrow (Friday, November 7, 2025) at dusk (5:30 p.m.) with a special Remembrance Day projection on the facade of the former Halifax Memorial Library at the corner of Spring Garden Road and Grafton Street.
This year’s ‘light projection show’ series runs until Sunday, January 18, 2026, starting at sunset and running until 11:00 p.m. each night. The schedule includes seven different seasonal and cultural themed shows, including a “Fall” abstract show that will play in tandem with the Remembrance Day projection this weekend.
The light shows at Grafton Park are just one part of DELIGHTFUL DOWNTOWN, a placemaking program started by DHBC in 2021 to bring beauty and light into Downtown Halifax during the darkest months. The program also includes light installations at several parks throughout Downtown, a dazzling 28-foot tree lit-up at Peace and Friendship Park, snowflakes and wreaths adorning the lamp poles up and down the streets, and winter-themed window decals all over Downtown Halifax.
