About the Event
Canada’s Navy in the First Gulf War: A First-Hand Account, explores its lasting impact, 35 years later. Despite occurring thousands of miles away, this book tells the story of how the Canadian Navy undertook a dangerous operation far from home, and the professionalism and ingenuity involved in the mission. Books are available for purchase and author signing.
Vice-Admiral Duncan (Dusty) E. Miller, CMM, MSC, CD3, (Ret’d) retired from the Royal Canadian Navy in 2003 after serving 38 years. He led the Canadian Naval Task Group into the 1990–91 First Gulf War. In retirement, he became the Chair of the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires as well as Chair of the Canadian Naval Memorial Trust. In 2022, he became the President of the Royal United Services Institute of Nova Scotia. He lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
