PAID PARKING ON SATURDAYS STARTS JULY 18
Starting Saturday, July 18, paid on-street parking will be in effect on Saturdays from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm in Downtown Halifax (parking Zones B & C) and Downtown Dartmouth (Zone H).
As with weekdays, once parked, drivers must start a parking session at a pay station or through the HotSpot app, including for stays of less than one hour.
The first hour of parking is free, but you must still register your session). After the first hour, parking is available at a flat rate of $2.00 per hour (on Saturdays only, see regular weekday rates below).
Parking regulations will be enforced during paid parking hours on Saturdays. Vehicles without a registered parking session may receive a ticket, regardless of the length of their stay.
Saturday Paid Parking in Downtown Halifax

On-Street Parking Rate Increase
Effective July 15, 2026, weekday on-street parking rates have increased by up to $0.75 an hour depending on demand and the parking zone.
Monthly commuter parking permit fees will also increase by $20.
Updated rates will apply to all weekday paid on-street parking zones, and the new permit fees will apply to all commuter parking permit zones.

On-street parking is organized into designated parking zones. In Downtown Halifax, the on-street parking area consists of Zone B and Zone C.
NEW Zone B Parking Rates
- 8:00 - 10:00 am: $3.25 per hour
- 10:00 am - 1:00 pm: $4.75 per hour
- 1:00 - 5:00 pm: $3.25 per hour
- 5:00 - 6:00 pm: $1.50 per hour
- Daily Max: $35.25
NEW Zone C Parking Rates
- 8:00 - 11:00 am: $3.25 per hour
- 11:00 am - 2:00 pm: $4.75 per hour
- 2:00 - 5:00 pm: $3.25 per hour
- 5:00 - 6:00 pm: $1.50 per hour
- Daily Max: $35.25
