About the Event

Jeremy Vaughan Ocean Island River Forest
The Prow Gallery, Halifax, NS — Nova Scotia artist Jeremy Vaughan presents a new collection of work for The Prow Gallery. Ocean Island River Forest is a memorable exhibition celebrating the beautiful and diverse landscapes of Nova Scotia.
Vaughan states, “Nova Scotia has an embarrassment of riches, forests and beaches and rivers and lakes… I had some memorable trips this year. I got to fly in a helicopter from Halifax to St Mary's river, over the dry, but still beautiful middle of our province. It was beautiful, and bittersweet. So many wetlands looked bone dry, and rivers were reduced to a trickle from the drought. I also boated to islands and beaches I'd never seen in the one hundred wild islands. Wow!!!”
Featuring approximately fifteen new paintings, this exhibition explores the vast landscapes of Nova Scotia, from its rugged coasts to inland rivers and forests, many based on Vaughan’s love of exploring, camping, and kayaking in Kejimkujik National Park.
Join us for the Artist Reception on Thursday, January 22, 5-8pm. The exhibit runs until February 13, 2026.
