Halifax’s 2024 municipal election

This is a big one! After October 19, 2024, Halifax will have a new Mayor for the first time in twelve-years, and Districts 7, 8, 13, 14 and 16 will all have a new face representing them around the council table.

There are 79 people asking us, the voting public, to choose them (16 running for Mayor, 63 running for a council seat), but how do we pick? Maybe you already have?!

Early voter turn out results (as of October 15, 2024.)

If not, many media outlets (The Coast, CTV, Halifax Examiner, allNovaScotia etc.) have interviewed the canadiates and posted stories online, and most have their own websites (links below.)
