Public Washrooms in Downtown Halifax

The washrooms at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia (AGNS) are open to the public and you do not need to pay admission to access them.

The Halifax Ferry Terminal located on the Halifax Waterfront has universal and gender specific washrooms and are open for general use year-round.

Public washrooms are located in the Halifax Seaport area and feature wheelchair accessibility and changing tables. They are located behind the train next to the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21.

The public washrooms at the Halifax Seaport Farmers' Market are only open when the market is open.

The washrooms at Scotia Square are open to the public when the complex is open.

The Halifax Central Library has washrooms across multiple levels of the building including Level 1. Each washroom is fully accessible with features including wide-clearance doors, universal and gender-neutral layouts, and more.

Public washrooms at the Halifax Public Gardens are located near the middle gate off the Spring Garden Road entrance inside Juan Plaza and Horticultural Hall. They feature accessible family washrooms, but are typically open only on a seasonal basis from roughly April through November.
