Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo - Canada Day Parade 2026

Route: Starts at Scotiabank Center at 10 am

Celebrate Canada’s birthday with the return of the Sobeys Tattoo Canada Day Parade! On Wednesday, July 1, join the festivities as the parade kicks off at 10:00 am from the Scotiabank Centre. The route winds through Downtown Halifax, featuring over 25 groups and floats, before returning to the starting point. It's the largest Canada Day parade east of Montreal!

In honour of Canada’s 159th birthday, enjoy FREE admission to the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site. Don’t miss the opportunity to explore our newest indoor exhibit, "Fortress Halifax: A City Shaped by Conflict" which offers the most comprehensive and inclusive history of Halifax in one location. Cake will be served! The iconic noon gun signals the official 21-gun salute from the Halifax Citadel saluting battery.

Finish off your Canada Day celebrations with fireworks over the Halifax Harbour. The best location to view the show in Downtown Halifax is Foundation Wharf on the Halifax Waterfront (on the waterside of the Salt Yard).

Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21

Join us for one of Fenton the Bear’s favourite days of the year! Enjoy family-friendly, interactive activities, live performances and community programming that highlight stories, cultures and experiences from across the country.

Join us from 8:30 am – 9:30 am for a sensory-friendly Canada Day experience intended for visitors who prefer a quieter, lower-stimulation environment.

- Opportunities to enjoy select activities, exhibition spaces, and the Great Cookie Scavenger Hunt
- A make-and-take activity from Holdfast Bricks (while supplies last) and a giant building brick mosaic
