Support for Hammonds Plains and Tantallon Wildfires

For those who are affected by the wildfires looking for an activity for the whole family or just a place to enjoy for a break, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, both Halifax and Western Branch, are open with free admission for you through the weekend.

Discovery Centre is offering free admission to affected families through discount code DISCOVER when purchasing tickets through their website. 

Donating $1 for each of their seasonal drinks on tap to the United Way Wildlife Recovery all this week and next. 

Individual donations to United Way's Wildfire Recovery Appeal will be matched up to $125,000. By making your gift today, your impact will be doubled.

FBM, located at 1660 Hollis Street, is receiving and mobilizing donations to comfort centers including: 

• Shampoo/conditioner
• Toothpaste, floss, and toothbrushes 
• Hand & body soap 
• Hygiene products 
• Other toiletries 
• Baby and senior care products 
• Good-condition clothing 
• Socks and shoes 
• Bottled water, juice, gatorade 
• Fruit 
• Packaged Snacks 

Supplies will be delivered to comfort centre on Friday, June 2, to support those displaced by fires.

Do you have items you can donate to those in need who have lost their homes in the current fires? 

If you have been affected by the current fires, donated items will be available for pick up here. 

Items include, but not limited to:

"We would like to offer free coffee to any first responders who have been working on the frontlines. If any first responders happen to be downtown or have a day off, please feel free to stop by the cafe for any coffee/tea drink of your choice. We know this cannot fix what is happening, but we are here to offer you a little bit of comfort.

To any of our regulars who have had to evacuate and need a reprieve from this situation, come by the cafe. We will gladly comp your orders and offer a listening ear."

Offering free admission on Friday, June 2 from 9:30 am - 5:30 pm for those who need a break during these challenging times. 

Donating $2 from every order to the Canadian Red Cross.

Obladee will be donating $5 from every NS Wine flight and $2 from every NS wine by-the-glass sold to @feednovascotia until the situation is resolved. 

They will also have a Feed NS donation box if you’d like to drop off non-perishable items Tues-Sun anytime after 2pm. 

100% of proceeds from the Nova Scotia and New Brunswick Bars will be donated directly to the Red Cross or you can donate directly via the Red Cross Portal
