Meet Ashley Groves, owner of Happily Hitched Halifax, Halifax’s newest micro-wedding and elopement venue!
Ashley was born and raised in Toronto, where she worked as a social worker for eight years before changing direction to pursue a career in event management. Not only is she passionate about helpings others, but she also enjoys collaborating and performing with others. Years of being involved in community theatre, from acting to stage management, continues to fuel this passion outside of work.
When Ashley moved to Halifax in 2020, she started a wedding planning company The Wedding Grove Atlantic. This March 2023, she opened the sister company, Happily Hitched, to help take your wedding planning from stress to YES!
Located in the heart of Downtown Halifax at 5239 Blowers Street, Happily Hitched is a one-stop micro wedding and elopement venue where you bring the marriage license and your loved ones, and they bring the rest. The sun-filled venue is accented with exposed brick walls, tasteful décor, and as a member of Canada's LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce in the process of getting Rainbow Registered, they joyfully celebrate ALL love. Not only do all packages include an officiant, photography, celebratory sips and nibbles, and a selection of personal flowers, but their space is also dog friendly, and you can livestream your service from the venue if desired.
