As the days get shorter (and darker), DHBC likes to embrace the darkness (and chiller days) with lots and lots of festive LIGHTS. 
Yes, we love this time of year, but it's not just because we love to party (we really do), it's the parade, the festivals and live music, and seeing people Downtown with their favorite people, eating, shopping and making memories!

Adding more lighting to Downtown Halifax not only gets us in the spirit of the season, but did you know that cities across the world make lighting a big part of their "beautification programming" each year? 
It creates safer, more inviting spaces for the public to enjoy at night.

DHBC does this too by investing in our DELIGHTFUL DOWNTOWN winter lighting program each year, and by awarding business members with a "Deck the Downtown" holiday decoration grant. 
This year, we gave out a total of $12,000 and had over 40 business members participate (see list below for some of them.)
