About the Event

Tonight’s talk explores some of the people who became part of Rockhead’s Prison history, with special attention given to those who suffered misunderstandings. Katie Ingram will also provide a brief overview of Rockhead's general history as an introduction and discuss what became of the site after the prison closed.

Katie Ingram is a Halifax-based writer and journalism instructor. Her most recent book, The Undesirables: A History of Rockhead Prison was released in September 2025! She is also the author of Breaking Disaster: Newspaper Stories of the Halifax Explosion.

Books will be available for purchase and signing.

As part of our Tuesday community nights at the museum, we offer free admission from 5 pm – 8 pm. We also encourage donations to Feed Nova Scotia to help curb food insecurity in Halifax, together!
