About the Event

The Canadian Museum of Immigration is proud to present Salah Bachir as part of our Canada’s Storytellers series.

This sweeping epic of a memoir, told in vignettes spanning Salah's fascinating life, begins with his early life among his family's olive groves in Lebanon and immigration to Canada as a ten-year-old boy. As a young man, Salah creates his own luck, creating a niche for himself in the burgeoning home video industry and beginning a career as a publisher and writer that gives him access to some of the world's most famous entertainers. Along the way, he becomes a singular force in fundraising for a multitude of causes, hosting parties and luncheons of such legendary magnitude that he earns the nickname "Gala Salah". With his endless commitment to philanthropy, bold personal style, and utter lack of pretense, Salah is a true original.

Seating is cabaret-style and space is limited.
