Meet Tristan (left) and Tony (right), owners of Buddy's Deli, Halifax’s newest sub shop.
Both born and raised in Halifax, Tristan and Tony met through the local entertainment and events industry as young entrepreneurs with similar interests. Tristan, a DJ and event coordinator, and Tony, a former breakdancer with an entertainment company, first went into business as co-owners of Golden Service Bar, a mobile bar catering food and beverages established in 2016.
In March 2024, they expanded their business portfolio to include something the felt the Downtown core was missing: a local deli specializing in subs. Located at 5217 Blowers Street, Buddy's Deli serves the Downtown lunch crowd Tuesday to Friday, 11am – 3pm, and Friday to Sunday, 12pm – 4pm. Their current menu offers six different 12” subs, all made with fresh-baked local bread, stuffed with local meats, cheese, and veg. Keep an eye on their Instagram for monthly specials, exclusive collaborations, and their upcoming Open City pop up event!

The business name “Buddy’s” is inspired by the frequent use of the term by Maritimers. The deli and staff embrace the same easy-going vibe and look forward to making you a buddy.
