About the Event
Led by Wesley Petite, this walk will transport attendees back to the 1840s, when the likes of Alexander Keith, Enos Collins, and Joseph Howe were commonly seen walking the streets of Halifax. At this time, Halifax was still part of the colony of British North America and everyday life was very different than it is today! Nevertheless, memorials and a few resilient relics are still found right beneath our modern noses. This walk will celebrate a significant era in which local government was introduced in Nova Scotia and responsible government was introduced to Canada right here in our fine city.
Starting location: Front Entrance to Historic Properties, 1869 Upper Water St
End location: Brown Hound, 1450 Ironstone Lane
Accessibility notes: Some slight hills, frequent washrooms, paved walkways.
