About the Event

Join us for the Halifax launch of Cuisine Ton Quartier, a podcast featuring francophone immigrant and refugee stories from population centres across Canada. The presentation of the podcast will be followed by a Q&A and a small reception.

About the podcast:
Cuisine Ton Quartier is an inclusive social art project that opens people up to others and aims to reduce racism. It reinforces a positive perception of the courageous people from elsewhere who contribute to our society.

The Cuisine Ton Quartier podcast features testimonials from refugees and immigrants, community organizations, social workers, members of the host society, and activist artists. Enjoy the experience from the comfort of your own home, or visit the parks for an audio-guided tour at your own pace, immersed in the neighbourhoods.

The Cuisine Ton Quartier walkabout podcast takes you on an attentive stroll in French, to meet newcomers, the people who help them integrate, and the artists who draw inspiration from them in Montreal and elsewhere in Canada.

About Canada’s Storytellers:
Canada’s Storytellers is an ongoing series of programs that connects visitors with cultural works, and their creators, to explore themes of immigration, migration, multiculturalism, (in)equality and Canadian identity. Canada’s Storytellers has welcomed renowned authors such as Lawrence Hill, Madeleine Thien, Mark Sakamoto, Blaise Ndala, Kim Thuy; screened films like Kayak to Klemtu, Bagages, I Am Rohingya, and more.
