About the Event

The Encampment runs Saturday, from 10 am to 5 pm, and Sunday, from 10 am to 3 pm.

Various Maritime Living History groups join forces to create an 18th century military camp inside the historic walls. Camp life will be on display including cooking, washing, blacksmithing, and children’s games.

This period during the American Revolution saw thousands of Loyalists immigrate to Nova Scotia making a significant contribution to what would eventually become Canada.
