About the Event

Join Terry Drisdelle, Senior Planner with Build Nova Scotia for a stroll along the boardwalk to learn about the events that transformed this area from a busy commercial waterfront, to an area of abandoned and deteriorating properties and then to the most visited public destination in Nova Scotia. Hear how the ongoing work of Build Nova Scotia has created active and inclusive public spaces while adopting best practices in waste management and remediation measures for sea level rise and flooding.

Starting location: At the south end and start of the Halifax Boardwalk, next to the overhead arch by the Emera building.
End location: On the boardwalk by the Marrott Hotel and Historic Properties.

Accessibility notes: Public washrooms along the way. Wooden boardwalk and asphalt surfaces, generally flat and level.
