Exciting Gallery Hop Event on Saturday, May 11
Art enthusiasts and culture seekers are invited to an exclusive Gallery Hop event, taking place on May 11. This vibrant daytime event will offer attendees an unparalleled opportunity to explore local commercial galleries, engage with local artists, and enjoy a day of art and art making.
The Gallery Hop will take place during the day on Saturday, May 11 and will feature a tour through the best commercial galleries in HRM. Visitors will have the chance to purchase art, view new exhibitions, meet artists, and participate in interactive art projects.
“The Gallery Hop is a celebration of the creativity that thrives within our community,” says Kim Farmer, Manager of The Prow Gallery, and event organizer. “It’s an invitation to step into the world of art and to appreciate the diverse talent we have so close to home.”

14 Bells Fine Art Gallery Join artist in residence Carter Noseworthy and gallery artist Tabatha Cass as they paint Plein Air – “In the Open Air”. 5523B Young St.
Argyle Fine Art Gallery Meet and Greet Artists! Two new shows will open during Open City. Pop by to be the first to see new paintings by emerging artist Caileigh Lambie. Also, check out the latest body of work by artist Heidi Holloway in her show of new paintings “The Size of Life”. Both artists will be on site from 1:30-3:30, with refreshments available while supplies last. There will be a free draw for a Mother’s Day gift pack. 1559 Barrington St.
Art 1274 Hollis Gallery will be offering demos throughout the day and will feature fibre artist Gail Heinz. 1274 Hollis St.
Cuts and Paste Gallery Blooming Paper Workshop – 12-6pm. Learn to make paper with seeds embedded that can be planted after the greeting has been shared. This free event coincides with the opening of “April Showers Bring May Flowers” exhibit. 5663 Nora Bernard St.
Hermes Gallery is exhibiting Oracle Baby, 2 person show with Erica Mendritzki and Ufuk Gueray. 5682 North St.
