Due to the forecast of thundershowers, Downtown Halifax Picnic on the Hill, originally scheduled for tomorrow, has been postponed until Tuesday, August 20, 12:00 noon to 1:30 pm, at Citadel Hill beside The Old Town Clock on Brunswick Street.
The picnic, presented by Downtown Halifax Business Commission in collaboration with Parks Canada, will be a fun way to celebrate the summer and admire the renovations being done to the Old Town Clock. Parks Canada will be on site with fun activities and picnic games. Neptune Theatre will have cast members from The Argyle Street Kitchen Party performing at 12:30 pm with music and dancing.
What to bring:
- Lunch, or cash to purchase food on site from the Halifax Citadel Society
- Reusable cup for free lemonade or iced tea (while supplies last)
- Picnic blanket
- Sun hat
Food will also be available for purchase on site from the Halifax Citadel Society (cash only). Along with hundreds of Downtown restaurants that offer take-out, Mary’s African Cuisine and Café Taiyaki 52 will be offering special takeaway lunches that can be purchased at their establishments for the picnic. DHBC will have free lemonade and iced tea, until supplies last.
