During its 61st Annual Conference and Tradeshow, the International Downtown Association (IDA) recognized Downtown Halifax Business Commission (DHBC) with a Downtown Pinnacle Award for its work and initiatives related to marketing and communications. With the Downtown Pinnacle Award, IDA recognized DHBC’s 2015 winter marketing programming including Date Night and #DanAndAyesha.
The marketing and communications category highlights plans or strategies that used print, electronic media, or multimedia efforts to promote downtown and further the value of city centres.
“We are extremely honoured to receive this prestigious award from our colleagues at IDA,” said Paul MacKinnon, DHBC executive director. “We are always striving to innovate with our communications and marketing approaches on behalf of Downtown and our businesses, and it is humbling for our efforts to be recognized in this way by an international organization.”
“DHBC’s marketing efforts received IDA’s most prestigious award for demonstrating excellence in downtown management,” said David Downey, IDA President and CEO. “Each year the IDA Awards Jury honours the very best programs and projects in each category to recognize great work and most importantly to set the standard for best practice in our industry. DHBC’s work is a wonderful example for all cities to emulate.”
