On Wednesday, June 7, Downtown Halifax will be filled with 40 teams with a total of over 220 volunteers, representing 28 local businesses and organizations sweeping the streets and painting picnic tables for the 23rd Annual Clean Sweep. Four teams will also be painting four picnic tables that will be added to the 45 painted picnic tables already placed in Downtown Halifax. The event, presented by Downtown Halifax Business Commission (DHBC), also serves as an official kick-off for DHBC’s Enviro Team, a dedicated group of seven students who provide tourist information and keep Downtown Halifax clean throughout the spring and summer.
