Tunes at Noon is back for its 12th year! Tunes at Noon is a FREE summer concert series on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 pm in Grand Parade.
Maura Whitman began performing music before she was old enough to reach the keys on the family piano. She has performed at countless festivals and local events, opening for Gordie Sampson, Neon Dreams, Dennis Ellsworth, and Christina Martin, and performing alongside Brad Roberts of the Crash Test Dummies, Breagh MacKinnon, and most recently Serena Ryder. Many call her stage presence unprecedented and captivating for her 18 years of age.
Maura is a fresh face with her vocals and songwriting ability. Invited as one of Nova Scotia’s most promising young songwriters to take part in the prestigious, Gordie Sampson Songwriting Camp gave her an opportunity to collaborate with some of Canada’s most sought after writers and producers. This cowriting experience set the tone of where she wants to go with her music and took her songwriting to a whole new level.
With new music in production, working with Halifax producer Corey Lerue, Maura is proving she is in this for the long haul. Pop music inspired by jazz, rhythm and blues and colored with old soul character continues to be a wonderful combination for this teen artist from Halifax, Nova Scotia.
