Join us on Argyle Street for the first annual Chili Warm-Up and Family Fun Day.
NEW DATE - SATURDAY, DECEMBER 16
Come and enjoy some holiday spirit and 'warm-up' with our Chili Cook-Off on Argyle Street (between Blowers and Sackville Streets).
Sample some chili, vote for and buy a bowl of your favourite for $5 (and cornbread for $2), and enjoy some family-friendly activities including cookie decorating with Mrs. Claus, plinko and get a picture taken inside the oversized Snow Globe. Plus, cotton candy and popcorn will be free for everyone!
The following businesses will be preparing chili and cornbread: Boneheads BBQ, Durty Nelly's, East of Grafton, Gahan House, The Auction House, The Pint, and Verano Food Purveyors. World Tea House will be selling a chili chai tea and hot chocolate in-store.
We will be judging the Best Chili, the Best Veggie Chili and the Best Cornbread with Mayor Mike Savage as one of the judges. AND we will be conducting a People's Choice for Best Chili.
Virgin Radio's Street Team will be there to provide music and will be doing a draw to give away one $100 pre-paid Visa gift card to Downtown Halifax to one lucky winner.
All activites and games are free and open to the public, but visitors will be able to make a donation to Make-A-Wish.
