It’s an extra special Canada Day at the Museum as we celebrate our 20th anniversary! Come enjoy a fun filled day of live multicultural music and performances, family-friendly activities, crafts, delicious treats and so much more. Featuring all your favourite special guests plus some new ones for 2019.
From 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., all are welcome to attend an official Citizenship Ceremony, presented in partnership with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. A heartwarming opportunity to support these newcomers taking their final step towards becoming Canadians.
Admission and activities are FREE all day.
10 am to 11 am: Citizenship Ceremony
Reaffirm your citizenship alongside new Canadians at an official Citizenship Ceremony, presented in partnership with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
11 am to 3 pm: Outdoor Fun
Music by Freddie Mujica, chalk art by Jason Skinner, the Rope Skipping Association of Nova Scotia, Free to Move dancers, Museum mascot Fenton, and CBC mascot Bookaboo. (Outside the Museum and Pier 23.)
11 am to 4 pm: Facepainting
Have a maple leaf painted on your face at the facepainting booths. (Next to Museum ticket counter.)
11 am to 4 pm: Photobooth
Commemorate the day with help from CBC at the Clickbooth Photobooth. (Mirella and Lino Saputo Hall.)
10 am to 4 pm: Family Fun Zone Crafts and Activities
Crafts and activities with cultural community partners. (Windsor Foundation Global Classroom.)
11 am & 2 pm: Pier21: The Musical
See the musical in the very site it inspired Pier 21: The Musical runs twice today. (Andrea and Charles Bronfman Theatre.)
12 pm to 3 pm – Multicultural performances of music and dance. (Mirella and Lino Saputo Hall.)
3 pm to 4:00 pm: The Big Sing
The folks from the Big Sing return to lead us all in a touching sing along. (Mirella and Lino Saputo Hall.)
