2009 Downtown Shopping Promotion
Be a part of this year’s Downtown Shopping Promotion in November. The Downtown Shopping Promotion will be taking place as a week-long promotion during regular operating hours the week of November 23-28. Participating Downtown stores offer, from open to close, tax-free shopping and specials while
Downtown bars and restaurants offer drink and food specials. The program is promoted through a direct-email campaign, posters, handbills, and ads in The Coast, Metro and The Chronicle Herald. Call for Parade Volunteers
If you’re 16 years of age or older and looking for a great way to meet people, enjoy the holiday festivities or become part of a great team that brings smiles to many faces year after year, volunteer for the 14th Annual Chronicle Herald Holiday Parade of Lights on Saturday, November 21! 2009 Calendar of Holiday Events Brochure
Once again, DHBC is partnering with HRM Capital District and area business commissions to produce the 2009 Calendar of Holiday Events that will be distributed to over 70,000 households. If you have a holiday event or activity, let us know and we’ll include a free listing in the brochure. Brochures will be distributed by unaddressed mail-drop starting early November.

Entrepreneurs with Disabilities Network (EDN) is a not-for-profit organization that is willing to give seminars to businesses. They have a history of promoting and facilitating entrepreneurship among people living with all types of disabilities across Nova Scotia. They also provide networking and support to entrepreneurs with
disabilities as well as essential tools needed to succeed in the business.
Small Business Week
October 18-24 is Small Business Week and Scotiabank in Scotia Square is planning activities and information sessions to promote products and services designed to assist small business owners. Throughout the week, representatives from Chase Paymentech, CFIB, Scotiabank Cash Management Dept, Commercial Banking, Wealth Management, and Canada Business will be present. Similar services are also being planned at the Hollis Street branch.
