Pier 21 Becomes a National Museum
The Pier has been welcoming people to Canada for over 40 years. In the past few years, Pier 21 began the process of becoming a national museum. On June 25, 2009, a statement, made by Prime Minister Stephen Harper, stated that Pier 21 had become a National Museum of Immigration. This new status will allow Pier 21 to gain support in order to maintain operating costs and enable them to tell the stories of over 1.5 million people who passed through the port.

Tips to Prevent H1N1
There are things people can do to prevent the spread of H1N1. They include washing your hands often and coughing into an arm or a sleeve instead of your hand. As employers there are things you can do to help too. They include encouraging sick employees to stay home from work until they are feeling better, having soap, hand sanitizer, and paper towel refilled frequently, discouraging the sharing of office supplies and posting information about good hygiene practices. Symptoms to watch for are usually a fever and/or a cough with any of the following: unusual tiredness, headache, muscle or joint aches and/or a sore throat.
