2009 Downtown Shopping Promotion
The Downtown Shopping Promotion will be taking place as a week-long promotion during regular operating hours the week of November 23-28. Participating Downtown stores offer, from open to close, tax-free shopping and specials while Downtown bars and restaurants offer drink and food specials. The program is promoted through a direct-email campaign, posters, handbills, and ads in The Coast, Metro and The Chronicle Herald. If you’re 16 years of age or older, volunteer for the 14th Annual Chronicle Herald Holiday Parade of Lights on Saturday, November 21! Over 100 volunteers are needed. Small Business Week
October 18-24 is Small Business Week and Scotiabank in Scotia Square is planning activities and information sessions to promote products and services designed to assist small business owners. Representatives from Chase Paymentech, CFIB, Scotiabank Cash Management Dept., Commercial Banking, Wealth Management and Canada Business will be present. Christmas at the Club
On November 13, at 11:00 am-7:00 pm, the Halifax Club will be holding a holiday shopping event. Over 60 boutiques are participating in this free event. There will be special holiday cookies and cider available as well as the option of gift wrapping. Parking is available at Metropark for just $6 with a parking voucher. The ViewPoint Gallery, located at 1272 Barrington Street will have openings taking place the first Thursday of every month between 6:00-9:00pm. Jingle Bell Walk and Run
On Sunday, November 15, The Arthritis Society is holding a Jingle Bell Walk and Run to help kick off the holiday season by raising funds for 180,000 Nova Scotians living with Arthritis. The Halifax Citadel National Historic Site of Canada is now offering ghost tours on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
