14th Annual Chronicle Herald Holiday Parade of Lights
A record-breaking number of over 100,000 spectators came out for another successful Parade. FEED Nova Scotia and Q104 collected 3,264 kg of food and $18,350 in donations. C100 and Empire Theatres collected 2,500 toys for less fortunate children and Canada Post collected 2,175 letters to Santa. Chronicle Herald raised $6,200 in support of the Good Fellows’ Club. EastLink will rebroadcast the Parade on December 5, 12 and 19, at 7:00 pm.
2009 Parade Entry Winners
Congratulations to: 1st Place Float - Glow Parties’ Christmas toyland; 2nd Place Float - Mills’ gingerbread house; 3rd Place Float - StoneRidge Fellowship’s nativity scene, Float Honourable Mention - C100/Empire Theatres gift themed float, Walking Group Award - FUSION Baton Twirlers, Walking Group Honourable Mention - Starlite Strutters Majorettes, Flags and Cheerleaders. The first Atlantic Eco-Expo award for the most eco-friendly entry was awarded to: Winner - Dalhousie Architecture and Engineering Departments’ float, Runner-up - The Philae Shriners’ Flintstones car. Reminder to Lock Vehicles
Please remind customers and employees to lock their vehicle and to remove any valuables from sight. Since September 1, Downtown has had 34 incidents of theft from parked cars.

Halifax Region Children’s Aid Foundation
The Halifax Region Children’s Aid Foundation proudly presents the 1st Teddy Bear Wonderland will be held at the Halifax Forum’s Multipurpose Room on December 20 from 2:00-5:00 pm.
