Today is the day, my Big Day Downtown journey comes to an end. I was really tempted to check out another restaurant (I do have an appetite and a curious mind) but I do love something else beside food: beauty products).

Last year I was invited to participate in the Downtown Halifax Business Commission’s Big Day Downtown campaign. I guess they liked what I posted because I was invited back this year.
Because we at This Needs to Stop are super awesome at sharing we decided to make the most of our Downtown Halifax Visa and make this a two part challenge.
“Try Something New.” That was the vague challenge of this year’s Big Day Downtown, a marketing strategy by the Downtown Halifax Business Commission that sees bloggers and media types wandering the downtown core with a $100 credit card, checking out businesses that interest them and then—clearly—writing about it.
When the Downtown Halifax Business Commission (DHBC) asked Haute Halifax to participate in their Big Day Downtown initiative, we thought long and hard about the proposal. Just kidding, we deliberated for about as long as we would a marriage proposal from David Beckham.

Trying new things is certainly becoming more appealing to me lately, so I was happy to take the Downtown Halifax Business Commission up on their offer of my own personalized “Big Day Downtown.”
Thisneedstostop.com is a team effort. When we were asked to participate in Halifax’s Big Day Downtown, and given $100 to spend at downtown merchants, we decided to see how far $100 could be stretched and try to accomplish as much as possible.

So, the good folks at Downtown Halifax Business Commission have included me in their second annual Big Day Downtown.
It's back! Yes! We’re excited, because this time it’s a challenge (and you know we love a challenge). The challenge is to try something new downtown.
