There are 1,600 businesses that make up the Downtown business community. Approximately 20,000 people work Downtown, so there’s a constant inflow and outflow of people, goods and services.
Halifax is a lively city that is expanding quickly and strategically. The development of a new convention centre will attract many more people and businesses to the Downtown area. The announcement of the Shipyard contract for Halifax will also create more activity in the Downtown area in the coming years.
What happens in the Downtown has an enormous impact on the future of our city and Province. It is the economic, environmental, and cultural heart of this city and Province.
